Laser teeth whitening works in just one visit
In today’s world a healthy, good looking smile can go a long way. Over the last decade, there have been numerous technological and research advancements that allow us to achieve that brighter smile we all dream of. Our dental services utilize the latest procedures to enhance your smile, and can be done in just one appointment.
How does laser teeth whitening work?
Laser whitening consists of one simple, hassle free appointment. The LaserSmile laser uses state-of-the-art TCIA (Target Chromophere In-Phase Accelerated Activation) whitening technology. LaserSmile and laser white 10 gel combined provide gentle, safe, fast and effective whitening for you in just one visit. Laser white 10 gel is the next generation proprietary whitening gel and it enhances clinical results of the LaserSmile whitening system. The primary ingredient in laser white 10 gel has been used in whitening for over for over one hundred years. It is also recognized as a safe and effective ingredient by the dental community.
How does this compare to older, more traditional methods?
Other systems, like Zoom and Remembrandt, use a very bright, hot light that is not the same as a laser. We have found that use of the old systems with hot light can cause moderate to severe pain that can last for over forty eight hours. In our office we have switched to laser whitening, which uses significantly less heat and is so intense it is needed on the teeth for a much shorter period of time. We have little to no pain reports from patients and have discontinued the use of older styles of whitening.
What happens after a laser teeth whitening appointment?
After the laser whitening has been completed you should resume your normal dental hygiene routine, regularly brushing and flossing your teeth. Minimizing the consumption of staining foods and drinks such as red wine, coffee and tea will help to keep your laser white smile. Whitening, of any kind, does not work on crowns, veneers, bridges, or fillings. Since we have adopted the treatment, we have found laser whitening to be very effective. We usually have results so white it is off our colour shade measurement guide. Once you have had laser whitening, if you use whitening toothpaste regularly, we have found that often the new white shade can be maintained indefinitely. The results of laser whitening will vary from person to person and so it must be remembered that everyone’s tooth enamel crystal structure is different and no matter what whitening method you use, there is a rare chance that teeth will not whiten.
